Mom Hemp Bracelet

Sunday, May 5 • 1:00pm
Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, Alliance Pipeline Education Wing

Cost:$25/child

Make your Mom something she will love to wear!

Children ages 10+ can create a natural, durable hemp bracelet for their mom. Hemp twine can vary from rough and stiff with natural tan colour, to softer thread and dyed an amazing array of colours. It is one of the fastest growing plants and was one of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber 10,000 years ago. When making hemp jewelry, you are likely to use macramé knot styles and braiding techniques in order to create a thicker cord. In this class Nikki will go over how to create different knots, add in beads, and finish off into a beautiful unique bracelet. Please note that children must be accompanied by someone at least 16 years old.
