This week’s #FossilFriday is a parietal bone piece from a Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai! The parietal is one of the bones that makes up the frill in horned dinosaurs. The spike would have curved out to the side, making the dinosaur look pretty fearsome!

But this post may look a little familiar to some of you, as we have shared before in December 2019. In honour of National Volunteer Week, which kicks off this Sunday, we wanted to take this opportunity to showcase not only the fossil, but the amazing work of the volunteers who prepared it and many others in our collection.
