Museum Board AGM Upcoming

WEMBLEY, AB – The River of Death and Discovery Dinosaur Museum Society – which oversees operation of the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum – holds its Annual General Meeting June 6th.

All society members in good standing can attend and participate in helping the venue continue its development and growth.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Aykroyd Family Theatre and will be highlighted by the appointment of new board members and business items including bylaw amendments.

Members may nominate others or themselves as potential board members either at the meeting, or prior to by sending a resume and cover letter to detailing why the nomination would benefit the board. Lapsed memberships may be renewed in advance at the museum’s front desk. Memberships start at as little as $20.

“With our new Executive Director in place, we’re looking forward to introducing Linden Roberts to our member community,” says Board Chair Linda Side. “We’re excited about what the future holds and are eager to discuss some significant items at this important event.”

Among the key events for the year is the Museum’s annual fundraising event, set for Sept. 28.


The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum – a 41,000 square foot world-class facility named for Canada’s preeminent palaeontologist and highlighting the rich fossil resources of Northern Alberta – opened its doors to the public on September 26, 2015. It is Canada’s second devoted dinosaur museum, and is located 19 kilometres west of the City of Grande Prairie in the Town of Wembley.
