Fossil Prep Lab
New Opportunity

Interested in rocks and fossils? Willing to get your hands dirty? As a volunteer in the preparation lab, you will get hands on experience working to remove dinosaur fossils from their encasing rock and preserve them for future study. You will get direct instruction on how to prepare fossils from our Assistant Curator as you find out for yourself what lies buried in the rock. Please note: Volunteers in this position must be over the age of 12. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer Programs
New programs now available!

Summer program offerings are now available! We have a wide variety of programs for all ages.

Art at the Museum: select Thursday afternoons July & August. Mesozoic Masters available during the month of July for ages 13-16. Cretaceous Creations available during the month of August for ages 9-12. For more information and to register please visit our Art at the Museum page.

Summer Day Camps: July & August; Full day camps available for ages 7-10 and half day camps available for ages 4-6. For more information and to register check out our Summer Day Camps page.

Swan City Rotary Club Partnership
New Initiative

Are you a non-for-profit groups that is wanting to come out to the Museum, but may not be able to attend due to constraints? The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum and Swan City Rotary Club have partnered together to bring disadvantaged groups or those who otherwise may not be able to attend the museum out for a day trip. The Swan City Rotary Club will cover the cost of transportation, museum admission, guided gallery tour, and a program or National Geographic Film. All eligible organizations are encouraged to fill out an application form and return to Jewels Goff, Education/Outreach Programs Coordinator.

Fossil Excavation Volunteers

Do you want to discover bones buried for millions of years in a real palaeontology quarry? The museum needs volunteers for fossil collection fieldwork at the Pipestone Creek bonebed from late June through the middle of August. Sign up today!
