Interested in rocks and fossils? Willing to get your hands dirty?
The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum is happy to announce that we are launching our volunteer preparation program. As a volunteer in the preparation lab, you will get hands-on experience working to remove dinosaur fossils from their encasing rock and preserve them for future study. You will get direct instruction on how to use the tools and the methods used from our Assistant Curator, Derek Larson, as you find out for yourself what lies buried in the rock. No experience is required, though we recommend that volunteers come with a steady hand and a lot of patience.
Please view our current calendar for the most up to date times. Drop-ins are welcome during scheduled dates and time. We do appreciate it when you let us know ahead of time so we can make accommodations for everyone who attends. Select hours during the day are available by request Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Arrangements for these days must be made ahead of time. You should schedule at least two hours of your time per visit. If you have any questions or to make arrangements to attend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
