Interested in rocks and fossils? Willing to get your hands dirty?
The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum is pleased to offer our volunteer preparation program to interested members of the public. As a volunteer in the preparation lab, you will get hands-on experience working to remove dinosaur fossils from their encasing rock and preserve them for future study. You will get direct instruction on how to use the tools and the methods used from our palaeontology staff as you find out for yourself what lies buried in the rock. No experience is required, though we recommend that volunteers come with a steady hand and a lot of patience.
Our current prep lab schedule is provided below. Please note that prep lab is available during the day and evenings five days per week including most Saturdays during our summer hours. Always check the schedule for up to date times. Drop-ins are welcome. If you have any questions or to make arrangements to attend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
