
Homeschool Days
Homeschooling families are invited to join us for Homeschool Days during the 2025-2026 school year.
Introducing Our New Format for 2025-2026!
Join us for Science Fair Morning programming, Fossil Lab Palaeo Seniors afternoon programming, and/or Palaeo Juniors afternoon programming. Programs are booked separately. It’s a full day of programming with options for all ages!
The dates are November 25, February 24, April 14, and July Date TBD (special bonebed tour).
In the morning, students will explore engaging learning stations throughout the gallery, focusing on dinosaurs, fossil formation, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, evolution, and the scientific method. As you journey through the stations, fill out your “Passport Through Time.”
In the afternoon, students can enjoy either:
1. Fossil Lab for Palaeo Seniors: kids aged 12+ can enjoy a palaeo talk from our curator, Dr.Bamforth, followed by a hands-on activity session in our fossil lab with our palaeo team ($10).
2. Activity for Palaeo Juniors: kids in grades 2-6 can enjoy a palaeo activity from our education team, followed by a documentary in our theatre ($10).
Morning Program: Science Fair
Grades 2-12

10 am – 12:30 pm

Consists of:
- Learning stations set up throughout museum led by the museum education team that end at 12:30 pm
Palaeo Seniors
Ages 12+
$10 per student
1:15 pm – 3:00 pm
Max 10
Consists of:
- Palaeo Talk (different topic for each Homeschool Day)
- Lab Tour
- Fossil Prep/Cataloguing/Micro-Fossil sorting
Schedule:
1:15 pm: Palaeo Talk (talk changes for each homeschool day). Location: Theatre.
1:45 pm: Lab Tour and Fossil Activity (changes for each homeschool day). Location: Fossil Lab.
3:00 pm: Programming ends.
Palaeo Juniors
Grades 2-6
$10 per student
1:15 pm – 3:00 pm
Max 20
Consists of:
- Palaeo Activity (Jacketing, Fabrics of Time, Tracks and Trackways, etc.).
- Documentary
Schedule:
1:15 pm: Palaeo Activity. Location: Classroom.
2:15pm: Documentary. Location: Theatre.
3:00 pm: Programming ends.
