INTERESTED IN ROCKS AND FOSSILS? WILLING TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY?
The Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum is pleased to offer our volunteer preparation program to interested members of the public. As a volunteer in the preparation lab, you will get hands-on experience working to remove dinosaur fossils from their encasing rock and preserve them for future study. You will get direct instruction on how to use the tools and the methods used from our palaeontology staff as you find out for yourself what lies buried in the rock. No experience is required, though we recommend that volunteers come with a steady hand and a lot of patience.
Please note: volunteers in this position must be over the age of 12. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
We are currently open Thursday - Sunday, 10- 5 pm.
Please contact Jackson at jsweder@dinomuseum.ca to make arrangements in advance to attend.
