Introducing our new format for the 2025-2026 school season!

Homeschool Days are a series of educational events held throughout the school year, each date being a new theme.
The dates are November 25, February 24, April 21, and June 25 (special bonebed tour).
Join us for Science Fair Morning programming, Fossil Lab Palaeo Seniors afternoon programming, and/or Palaeo Juniors afternoon programming. Programs are booked separately. It's a full day of programming with options for all ages!
In the morning, students will explore engaging learning stations throughout the gallery, focusing on dinosaurs, fossil formation, palaeobiology, palaeoecology, evolution, and the scientific method. As you journey through the stations, fill out your "Passport Through Time."
In the afternoon, students can enjoy either:
1. Fossil Lab for Palaeo Seniors: kids aged 12+ can enjoy a palaeo talk from our curator, Dr.Bamforth, followed by a hands-on activity session in our fossil lab with our palaeo team ($10).
2. Activity for Palaeo Juniors: kids in grades 2-6 can enjoy a palaeo activity from our education team, followed by a documentary in our theatre ($10).

All students registered will receive a Passport Through Time that can be used for all Homeschool Days. One (1) passport per student registered. Passports will be given when you arrive at the museum.
Homeschool Days content is geared toward Grades 2-12. Students aged 12+ can be dropped off and attend without parental supervision. Children 11 and under must have parent supervision with them.
Special Bonebed Tour
Grades 2-12

Max 20
Location: Pipestone Creek Campground. Visitors must arrange their own transportation to and from the location.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- Hike to the bonebed
- Tour of the little museum (origins of the bonebed)
- Stop at the bonebed and have a chance to talk with a palaeontologist
- Viewing of the bonebed, actively being excavated
- Opportunity to fossil prospect along the creek.

Note: We ask that for families with 3 kids or less, only one adult attends; additional adults will need to purchase a ticket.
