This summer, sign up your dinosaur enthusiast for an immersive and fun science camp... now with both day and overnight options!
Dino Summer Camps are for children and incorporate forest school, science, palaeontology and earth sciences. Camps take place at the Museum, Pipestone Creek Park, and Saskatoon Island. Camps are educational and fun, including interactions with palaeo staff and a visit to the bone bed. It's dinosaurs galore!
Campers also have the exciting opportunity to go rafting on the Wapiti River (weather permitting)
Each camp has maximum 15 campers with 2+ camp counsellors. Campers should bring outdoor clothing appropriate for the current weather conditions, a water bottle, packed lunch (nut free), water clothing, sunscreen and bug spray.
Day camps are 9-4pm, drop off and pick up at the museum. Early drop off/late pick up (7-8:45am or 4-5pm) costs a fee of $10 per day.



CRETACEOUS CRITTERS (ages 4-6)
Cretaceous Critters offers young explorers a playful and engaging introduction to forest school, science, and palaeontology. Little campers will learn about dinosaurs and the prehistoric world through age‑appropriate hands‑on activities and enjoy a special trip to the world‑famous bone bed- Home to Big Sam! It’s a fun, safe, dinosaur‑filled adventure your child will talk about all summer long!
*Note: All campers must be able to use the bathroom independently to attend camp*. Drop off and pick up is at the museum. Please ensure all waivers are completed 48 hours prior to camp starting.

JURASSIC JUNIORS (ages 7-11)
Dino Summer Camps combine the best of forest school, hands‑on science, and real palaeontology for an unforgettable adventure. They’ll handle real fossils, meet a palaeontologist, ride the iconic dino bus, and stand right where ancient creatures once roamed at the world‑famous bone bed. It’s an immersive, confidence‑building program packed with curiosity, discovery, and outdoor exploration. Jurassic Junior campers also have the exciting opportunity to go rafting on the Wapiti River (weather permitting).

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any teen who is interested in natural science, palaeontology, and geology. They will be exploring the natural landscape and history of northwestern Alberta and discovering the fossils unique to this area... walking the path that dinosaurs roamed 73 million years ago.
- July 6 at 5:00 PM - July 10 at 11:30 AM
- 4 Day/4 Night overnight camp for the Palaeo Enthusiast Teen.
- This camp includes meals and accommodations for the duration of the camper's stay.
The climate in northwestern Alberta in early July can range from cool, damp mornings to very hot, sunny, and dry by midday. Please be sure to pack accordingly.
ITINERARY
Please note: Campers will camp at Pipestone Creek Park, nestled in the Wapiti River Valley. Campers will be transported to all activities in our Dino bus.
- Day 1- Monday, July 6
Drop off the camper at the museum at 5 pm

Meet and greet and dinner at the museum - Day 2- Tuesday, July 7
Secrets of the Wapiti float tour down the beautiful Wapiti River Valley. Exploration of riverside fossil sites - Day 3- Wednesday, July 8
Day at Pipestone Creek, fossil prospecting (moderate hiking), and the Pipestone Creek bonebed - Day 4- Thursday, July 9
Exploring northern fossil sites, prospecting with palaeontologists - Day 5- Friday, July 10
Pick up at 11:30 am (final day) at the museum

- If you are unable to make your booking for any reason, you need to change or cancel your program booking. Please contact us at 587-771-0662 at your earliest convenience.
- Changes made up to one week before the program’s start date are eligible for a 90% refund.
- Changes made between one week and three days (72 hours) are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Changes made less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the program start date are not eligible for a refund.
- In addition to this, if the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond your control (travel delays or extreme weather ie. smoke), the first option is to explore re-booking. If re-booking is not an option, 100% will be refunded.
