One of our most exciting tours this season! Land and See the history of late cretaceous Grande Prairie and area. The tour officially starts at the World-Renowned Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park, where we will pick you up in our Dino bus and transport you down to Pipestone Creek – Home of the Pachyrhinosaurus Lakustai, found only in our region! After a brief tutorial, you will meet our trained river guides on the Wapiti River and get ready to float down the Wapiti learning about Out Crops and Natural History as well as the fossil and dinosaur history of the area. During the tour, our river guides and palaeo will point out hidden gem dig sites inaccessible by foot, where you will stop at one of our active sites (Spring Creek) educating you on local wildlife and history of the area. After soaking up all the history and wildlife that the Wapiti Formations has, your float will continue and then end at one of the best outdoor activity centres in the region – Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park where a late lunch and Q&A with the Palaeo Guides will be waiting for you.
