Age Guidelines 

This experience is designed for adults and families with older teens. *Youth aged 12 and older are welcome to participate with an accompanying, paying adult (one adult for up to three youth). For safety reasons, this program is unsuitable for children younger than 12.*

Duration:

3 Hours

Price:  

$150 per person 

Private Group Experience (Up to 6 Participants) – $200 Per Person

Minimum Number of Guests:  This program will run when there are two or more participants registered 24 hours prior to the program date. If there are insufficient registrants for a program to run, a full refund will be given. Private experiences for one person may be arranged at an additional cost. 

ITINERARY

*Please note that the scheduled times are subject to change.

8:30 am:    Participants will meet at the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum for a brief orientation.
8:45 am:    ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour of the fossil prep lab.
9:00 am:    Participants will be shown preparation techniques and collections paperwork.
9:30 am:    Participants will be given a fossil to prepare in the lab.
11:20 am:  Participants will start the cleanup process from preparation and return the fossil to museum staff
11:30 am:  Fossil preparation complete for the day, participants are welcome to explore the gallery and visit the gift shop!

Requests for other days/times may be made but are subject to lab staff availability. From September to June, the program will be accepted on most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, subject to staff availability.  

Note: Lunch is not included in this program, but guests are encouraged to check out our in-museum café, Café on 43, after their session
