Museums as Cultural Hubs – the Future of Tradition

International Museum Day

Falling on our semi-annual Community Day, the museum will be partnering again with the Grande Prairie Museum and the Heritage Discovery Centre to bring you a full day of engaging educational fun, free of charge!

In addition to free admission to all three museums, the event will include a guidebook for International Museum Day, craft stations, scavenger hunts, and other hands-on activities, as well as free shuttle services between all three institutions courtesy of Grande Prairie Transit and our dino bus.

International Museum Day (IMD) aims to raise awareness of the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.”

Be sure to stop by Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association on IMD2019 to meet and greet with other Peace Country museums or visit them anytime to pick up the information you need to discover museums and historical sites throughout the region.

The museum’s Dine-O-Saur restaurant will have a special IMD 2019 menu available, and will be open until 5:00pm.

Collect a stamp from each museum and you can enter to win a draw for a gift basket including cool dino swag!

*Please note that, while access to our galleries will be free of charge on this day, movies in the Aykroyd Family Theatre will cost $2 per person, and prices at the gift shop and restaurant are as usual.
